J’s Bulgogi Chicken

Recipe Description

Family favorite–strong taste with lots of sauce, but still crispy

Servings: 6-8 servings

Ingredients

  • 32oz jar of Bulgogi or Korean BBQ sauce
  • 6-8 chicken breasts (trimmed)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 eggs
  • black pepper to taste
  • garlic (granulated or powder) to taste
  • finely chopped scallions (optional)
  • sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice chicken breasts into bite sized pieces
  2. Heat canola oil to 375 degrees
  3. Whisk 3 eggs in a bowl, add chicken to the bowl and toss to fully cover chicken with egg
  4. In a separate bowl add flour, garlic, and black pepper to taste
  5. Remove chicken pieces from egg and add to flour bowl and toss to completely cover chicken with the flour mix
  6. In a large container with a sealable top, pour in approximately 4 oz of bulgogi sauce
  7. Fry chicken in small batches until golden—immediately after removing chicken from the oil, drain quickly and put it in the sealable container with the Bulgogi sauce
  8. Seal the top and toss/shake vigorously for about 30 seconds
  9. Immediately remove the chicken from the container and place on a cookie sheet
  10. Top with scallions and/or sesame seeds while the sauce is wet (if desired)
  11. Repeat steps 6 to 10 until all chicken is cooked
  12. Serve warm over white rice
  13. If not serving immediately, keep in warm oven spread out on cookie sheet
